Project Overview
A visual language for the way the classics are built.
The Cocktail Atlas started with a problem I had myself. After years behind the bar, I knew that learning cocktails from a recipe list never really stuck; the ratios, the relationships between ingredients and the way a drink is built. I wanted to know if colour and composition could do what text couldn’t.
The result is a visual reference system for classic cocktails. Each card is colour-coded by base spirit, with concentric rings representing 15ml increments building outward, so the structure of a drink becomes something you can see at a glance. Origin, glassware, garnish, and build method all live in the same frame. The system works as a personal reference, a bar cart object, or a training tool in a professional hospitality setting.
